Although the word Selpro has no special meaning, it was once suggested that Selpro could be an acronym for Special Equipment for Law enforcement PROfessionals, but the boss didn't really embrace the idea!
The first company established by Vince Pinto in Hong Kong was an international transportation business which primarily focused on sea freight forwarding. Since “pinto” is also the name of a piebald or painted horse, the use of a seahorse logo seemed appropriate. The original square seahorse logo used by the transportation company was subsequently modified for Selpro, to reflect a common lineage and ownership, while the triangular version is reserved for future use.
